Things to Do in the Capital Region
Capitol tours, river cruises, racing and historic neighborhoods, city by city.
The Capital Region is not a tour-bus destination, and most of its best sights are easy to visit on your own: free tours of the State Capitol, the New York State Museum, Saratoga's racing museum and spa park, and walks through historic districts in Troy and Schenectady. Bookable experiences are fewer than in a big tourist city, but the ones that exist are well reviewed, led by sightseeing cruises on the Hudson from Albany.
Below, each city shows the tours and tickets you can book online, followed by a link to its own page with local highlights. Where a city has no bookable tours yet, its page lists the places worth seeing and how to plan a visit.
